Travis Keisig

Last Mountain-Touchwood

Travis Keisig was first elected as the MLA for Last Mountain-Touchwood in the 2020 provincial election and re-elected in 2024.

Born in Balcarres and raised in the RM of Tullymet No. 216, Travis continues to reside and farm in the area today.

He served several years in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves with 16 Medical Company. Following his service, Travis enrolled in the welding program at SIAST and gained experience in various welding jobs across the province. He later started his own business in Shaunavon, working as a mobile pressure welder in the oil and gas sectors.

In 1999, Travis and his family returned to the RM of Tullymet, where he farmed alongside his father while continuing to work as a pressure welder at refineries, power stations, potash mines, and pipelines.

Travis has always been community-minded and actively involved in local initiatives. He has served on several boards, including the Ituna Silver Spurs Light Horse 4-H Club, Ituna School Community Council, and Wyber Hall Committee. He has contributed countless hours of work and welding to community projects, such as the Balcarres Lions Playground and a joint project between Ituna Regional Park and the Ituna School Industrial Arts program, which provided new picnic tables and welding experience for students.

A former 4-H member and later a 4-H leader, Travis takes pride in his children being the fourth generation of 4-H members from Tullymet. He continues to embrace the 4-H motto: “learn to do by doing.”

Travis currently serves as Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Crown Investments Corporation. He previously served as Minister of Environment and was a member of the Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs and Justice.

Travis and his wife have two daughters.
