The Saskatchewan Party Caucus Communications Department provides professional communication services across all platforms and media for Government Members of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. Caucus Comms’ work supports both internal and external audiences and plays a key role in promoting the initiatives and priorities of the Government of Saskatchewan.
About the Role
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented and politically aware communications professional to join the team as a Junior Communications Officer. The ideal candidate will have experience in graphic design, social media strategy, video editing and analytical research along with strong writing and communication skills.
This is a collaborative environment where you will contribute to a wide range of projects from media. Your work will help communicate the important work being done by the Government of Saskatchewan.
Key Responsibilities
You will work as part of the team to:
- Create engaging content across social media, web and print platforms
- Draft communication materials such as speeches notes, ad copy, newsletters, web content and key messages
- Manage and update websites and social media channels
- Assist in video editing, graphic design and branding projects
- Monitor analytics and provide reports on communications performance
- Ensure all content aligns with the Government of Saskatchewan’s values and messaging
You are able to:
- Demonstrate a teachable attitude and eagerness to learn
- Communicate clearly and effectively (both verbally and in writing)
- Research, interpret, and simplify complex information
- Work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Adapt to changing schedules, last-minute deadlines and field work outside the office
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, elected officials, ministry offices and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is a strong asset (Premiere Pro, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)
- Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative and goal-oriented team
- Candidates with related experience may also be considered
