Todd Goudy
Melfort
Todd was first elected MLA for Melfort in a by-election in 2018 and re-elected in the 2020 and 2024 provincial elections.
Todd was raised in Melfort as the third son in a family dedicated to supporting western Canadian farmers. As a child, he spent time in the shop and observed his father develop a solution to Saskatchewan’s wild oat problem, which improved rapeseed/canola yields. In his teenage years, Todd worked alongside his father and brothers on field research and remembers putting out test plots before zero-till agriculture became common across the prairies.
After graduation, Todd moved to Albania in the early 1990s, where he worked to serve the people in the attempt to rebuild democracy, religious freedoms and economy after the fall of the communist government.
Todd’s best decision in life was marrying his wife. Together, they have raised six children.
Throughout most of his married life, Todd served as a minister in the Baptist church. He also ran a furniture manufacturing business and served 10 years on the Northeast School Division’s school board.
He has held several key roles, including serving on the Public Accounts Committee and Provincial Treasury Board, as Secretary to the Minister of Education, Secretary for Francophone Affairs, Secretary for Parks, Culture and Sport, Provincial Secretary, Legislative Secretary to the Premier and Government Whip. He currently serves as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
