The Honourable Jim Reiter was first elected as the MLA for Rosetown-Elrose in the 2007 provincial election and was re-elected in 2011, 2016, 2020, and 2024.

Minister Reiter has extensive experience in municipal governance. He served as the long-time administrator for the Rural Municipalities of Marriott and Pleasant Valley and has held leadership roles with the Rural Municipal Administrators’ Association (RMAA) as Director, Vice-President, President, and Executive Director.

Among his educational accomplishments, he earned a Senior Certificate in Local Government Administration from the University of Regina and served six years on the U of R Senate. Minister Reiter has also contributed to his community as a Justice of the Peace and marriage commissioner.

On November 7, 2024, Premier Scott Moe appointed Minister Reiter as Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance.

In addition to his current roles, Minister Reiter has previously served as Minister of Health, Minister of Highways and Infrastructure, Minister of First Nations, Métis and Northern Affairs, Minister of Government Relations, Minister of SaskBuilds, Minister of Energy and Resources, Minister of Immigration and Career Training, and Minister of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety.
