David Marit
Wood River
David was first elected MLA for Wood River in the 2016 provincial election and re-elected in 2020 and 2024. Born and raised in the area, he has strong ties to his community.
David was an active producer all his life until 2019 and is still a current landowner. He began serving on RM Council in 1993 and in 1999 was elected to the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) Board as Director for Division 2. He went on to serve as SARM Vice President, and eventually President, until winning the nomination for the Saskatchewan Party.
David currently serves as Minister of Highways, Minister of SaskBuilds and Procurement and Minister responsible for the Global Transportation Hub. He has previously served as Minister of Agriculture, Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation and Minister responsible for the Water Security Agency.
He and his wife live in Assiniboia and have one son and late daughter that blessed the family with two granddaughters and one grandson.
